From bedside care to building what healthcare was missing.
Our founder, Leann Sims, began her career as a nurse, then went on to lead the VIP program at Mayo Clinic Arizona. UnitedHealth recruited her to help design a clinical care model that became OptumHealth, where she advanced to Chief Operating Officer. That career gave her a rare view of healthcare, from the bedside to revenue, compliance, and national operations.
After retiring, a family experience made the problem personal. While her father moved through the VA system, his doctors never had the full picture. His records were scattered across systems that didn’t talk to each other. Leann watched clinicians make decisions without critical context, the same problem she’d seen throughout her career, now affecting someone she loved.
She came out of retirement to fix it.
MedSync started as a simple idea: what if clinicians could actually see the whole patient? Today, we connect to more than 2,500 sources nationwide, retrieve comprehensive histories in minutes, and deliver clinician-built summaries that make a difference at the point of care.
“I watched my father’s doctors make decisions without his full history, because the records existed in systems they couldn’t see. That’s the problem I spent my career observing, and it’s the problem MedSync was built to solve.”
